Danny Smight is an LA-based editor with ample experience on both fiction and nonfiction features, branded content shorts and experimental doc projects.

His most recent work was co-editing SLAUSON REC, a forthcoming doc that details the rise and fall of Shia LaBeouf's short-lived theater company of the same name. The film premiered in the Cannes Classics section of the 78th Cannes Film Festival on May 18th, 2025.

 

Danny previously worked at VICE Studios as an in-house editor cutting sizzle videos and prior to that as an assistant editor on the Vice Studios / HBO MAX documentary #BAMARUSH.

 

He knows the nitty-gritty of codecs, frame rates, and deliverable

specs like the back of his hand and has been cutting with Adobe Premiere Pro - and using the entire Creative Cloud suite - for over fourteen years. He's equipped for both in-person and remote work. Rates available upon request.
